Collection: Byzantium Rises

Byzantium RISES by ThatEvilOne transposes late Roman/Byzantine aesthetics into a brutal sci-fi universe: cataphract infantry, armored officers, support squads, “proto-ironclad” walkers, heavy tanks, and modular transports. Sculpted in 28mm scale, these miniatures make excellent proxies for Solar Auxilia / Astra Militarum (with a Byzantine flavor), or for any grimdark game seeking an imperial army with an eastern imperial iconography.

Why Choose This Collection?

  • Striking visual identity — crested helmets, lamellar armor, sigil-marked shields, banners, and late imperial iconography reinterpreted in a sci-fi setting.
  • Complete range — line troops, specialists, heavy support, officers, engineers, sappers, weapon teams, walkers, and modular armored vehicles.
  • Modularity & kitbash potential — plenty of head, weapon, and equipment options to build custom squads and command units.

Painting Tips

Prime black or grey. Work with an imperial palette: deep purples, aged gold, ivory, dark greens, and royal blues. Highlight helmets and crests with golden trim, and add Byzantine-inspired freehands (chi-rho, eagles, stylized crosses) to shields and banners. Weather armored vehicles with brown filters, sponge chipping, and dust/soot pigments to capture the look of a relentless siege campaign.

Byzantium RISES — muster an imperial legion at the crossroads of late Rome and grimdark sci-fi, ready to hold the line on any battlefield.
